About ACMarket

ACMarket 4.9.8 is an unofficial third-party app store for Android. People look for an ACMarket download to get modified versions of apps and games with paid features unlocked, but the store is not connected to the original developers, and using it carries serious risks for your phone, accounts and data.

What is ACMarket?

ACMarket is a catalogue of APK files that works like an app store but outside Google Play. Much of what it offers are modified apps: versions of popular games and tools changed by unknown people to remove ads, unlock premium content or alter how the app works. Neither ACMarket nor those modders are the developers of the original apps, and the developers do not approve these versions. Because the files are installed from outside the official store, Android asks you to allow installation from unknown sources, which weakens one of the phone's basic protections. The official website currently announces that a new version of the store is being prepared, so its content and availability can change at any moment.

How is it different from Google Play?

In Google Play, apps come from their publishers' accounts, are scanned by Google Play Protect and receive updates automatically. In ACMarket, files come from unknown sources, you cannot check what was changed, and updates depend on whoever made the modification. If something goes wrong, there is nobody responsible to contact.

What are the risks?

  • Malware. Modified APK files can hide spyware, adware or code that steals passwords and payment data.
  • Account bans. Online games and services can block accounts that use modified clients.
  • Legal problems. Unlocking paid content without paying violates the apps' terms and may breach copyright.
  • No security updates. Fixes from the original developers do not reach modified copies.
  • Not official. The store and its apps do not come from the developers of the original software.

Can I test it safely?

Not on your main phone. If you need to look at such a store, for example for research, use a spare device or an isolated environment such as the Android Studio emulator, and do not sign in there with your main Google account or banking apps. We do not provide links to download ACMarket or apps from it.

I already installed it. What now?

Uninstall ACMarket and the apps you got from it, turn off installation from unknown sources, run a scan with Google Play Protect and change the passwords of accounts you used in those apps. Reinstall the apps you need from Google Play.

Is there a legal way to save money?

Yes. Many apps have free versions with ads, trials or regular discounts in official stores. Supporting developers keeps apps updated and safe.
